Swiss Alp Resort - Location

Grindelwald has an impressively varied offering for visitors and residents alike. This untarnished nature paradise is ideal for relaxation and recuperation, and there are plenty of things to do as well, ranging from entertainment to adventure. So depending on your mood, you can take up a new challenge each day, or simply relax and enjoy.

Every morning you are greeted by the imposing alpine panorama surrounding Grindelwald, and sunrise is an unforgettable spectacle both in summer and winter. The show begins when the eternal snows glow majestically on the peak of the Eiger, and as the sunrays make their way into the valley, everyone wants to witness this marvel of nature, even if only once! The Swiss Alp Resort is ideally situated for viewing Grindelwald’s world-famous mountain scenery: including the First, Kleine Scheidegg and Männlichen.

The “First” mountain is on the sunny side of Grindelwald valley, right through the year. In summer you can come face to face here with pure nature at nearly 2200 metres (7218 feet) above sea level, with flowering alpine meadows, marmots, chamois, birds of prey, etc. And in winter this is one of the most magnificent skiing areas in the Alps, with modern drag and chair lifts and wonderful downhill runs. Whenever you come, you will be well attended by a royal guard – the Bernese Oberland Alps are standing at attention.

For the best view of the famed alpine trio Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, take a trip up to the Männlichen. Located between the Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald valleys, this sun-drenched panorama terrace is very popular for walking and recreation, and particularly for winter sports. When you reach the top on Europe’s longest cable railway, you will enjoy a magnificent view over the Grindelwald valley – and with a keen eye you can easily make out your new home in the idyllic Swiss Alp Resort.

Once up on the Männlichen, the Kleine Scheidegg seems only a stone’s throw away. In summer you will discover Switzerland’s first falconry here. Don’t miss the amazing aerobatics of these imposing birds against the stark background of the renowned Eiger North Wall. From here you can also take the Wenger Alp Railway up to Jungfraujoch, the Top of Europe.

And when you finally return to your cosy apartment or spacious chalet after such an adventurous day, all the comforts and guest facilities of the Romantik Hotel Schweizerhof await you. You have easy access to the hotel at all times: go swimming in our indoor pool, take a relaxing massage, enjoy a drink in the garden or around the fireside.

Then you can round off the evening in fitting style, with gourmet dining and a legendary wine from our well-stocked cellars – pure enjoyment.
